Kryptokompis is built so your data stays with you. This page says what the app and the website do with information about you.
Your data stays on your device
Transactions, reports, settings and backups are stored only on your PC or phone. There is no account and no cloud on our side, and we cannot see your data.
API keys are kept in the device's own credential store (on Windows: Windows' credential store) and are used only to read from the exchanges. If you export everything to move to another device, the keys are encrypted with a password you choose.
Who the app contacts
- The exchanges you connect, with your own API keys, to fetch transactions and balances.
- Public sources for prices and exchange rates (Norges Bank, Kraken and Binance), without anything that identifies you.
- The Kryptokompis website, to check for a new version.
Feedback
Feedback you write in the app is sent only when you press Send. It goes to a form at Google (Google Forms) with the text you wrote, the app version and your licence ID if you have a licence. You can choose to attach the most recent error messages; you see them before sending. An email address is optional. No transaction data is sent.
Buying a licence
Payment is handled by Stripe. Stripe processes your card details; we never see the card number. We receive your name and email address from the purchase and use them only to send you the licence key and answer questions about the purchase. The licence is checked in the app without internet.
The website
The website is hosted on GitHub Pages and loads its typeface from Google Fonts. Both can see your IP address when you open the site. The website uses no cookies, analytics or tracking.
Discord
Questions and help go through our Discord server. What you write there is processed by Discord under its terms.
Your rights
Since your data is with you, you can view, change and delete it yourself in the app, or by uninstalling it. If you want us to delete information from a purchase or feedback, or have questions about privacy, contact us on Discord.
